Tomo (友) — Location-Based Community
A community platform that connects people in Korea and Japan through location-based social groups. Users discover and join groups in their living area, building local connections with neighbours and nearby residents. Built with Flutter, social authentication, and Firebase for real-time community features.

The problem
Expats and residents in Korea and Japan struggle to find local community — language barriers and urban anonymity make it hard to connect with people in your own neighbourhood.
The approach
- Built location-based group discovery so users see communities anchored to their living area.
- Integrated social login (Apple, Google, Kakao) for low-friction onboarding across Korean and Japanese users.
- Implemented Firebase Crashlytics for production stability monitoring and FCM for group activity notifications.
The results
- Live on both App Store and Google Play in Korea and Japan.
- Location-based community matching driving organic group formation.
